Points to Consider During Course Selection and Approval Procedures
Dear Students,
Points to Consider During Course Selection and Approval Procedures
Course selection and registration procedures must be carried out within the dates specified in the Academic Calendar (https://baunwebapi.balikesir.edu.tr/uploads/1756475840822.pdf), in accordance with the curriculum applicable to the students and the relevant legislative provisions found at the following address:

You are strongly advised to contact your academic advisor immediately should you encounter any issues.
Points to Note
• Each student is responsible for completing their course registration, submitting the registration for advisor approval, and monitoring the Student Information System (OBS) to ensure the registration approved by the advisor becomes final.
• During the Add/Drop week, it is the student's responsibility to make necessary adjustments to the courses determined by the advisor and to have these changes approved by the advisor.
• It is essential to maintain an approximately equal number of students across courses or course sections (including Architectural Design courses). To ensure this balance, the Department Head or advisors may modify elective course choices and directly reassign students to different sections for Architectural Design courses.
Academic Rules and Curriculum
• To qualify for graduation, students must take and successfully complete all courses included in the curriculum of the year in which they enrolled.
• Therefore, it is crucial that students carefully check their curriculum against their transcripts during every registration period.
• Students are required to prioritize taking and completing any courses they have previously failed (carry-over courses). • After registering for carry-over courses and current semester courses, you may take courses from a higher semester within the limits of the ECTS workload determined by your General Weighted Grade Point Average (GANO).
• For courses with prerequisites (please refer to the curriculum applicable to you), a course from a higher semester cannot be taken until the prerequisite course has been successfully completed.
• All Architectural Design courses have prerequisites. The Basic Design course is a prerequisite for the Architectural Design 102 course.
• You may be unable to select certain elective courses or specific sections of compulsory courses due to full enrollment (quota limits). In such cases, you must choose other elective courses or sections that still have available openings.
Important Note
Should any course registration be found to conflict with legal regulations or the aforementioned guidelines, the Department Chair will promptly make the necessary corrections to ensure students do not encounter issues at the graduation stage.
Students are required to regularly check their course registrations via the Student Information System (OBS) and course attendance sheets during the first three weeks of the semester. Please contact your academic advisor immediately if you encounter any problems.
Students who attend classes or take exams for a course in which they are not registered cannot make any claims regarding that course.
