The City's Silent Witnesses: Mosques, the Ablution Fountain, and the Clock Tower
03 June 2026
As the Balıkesir University Faculty of Architecture, we once again presented our exhibition—featuring student project presentations titled "Silent Witnesses of the City: Mosques, the Ablution Fountain, and the Clock Tower"—to visitors as part of the opening program for the 1st International Turkic World Student Symposium.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to our Rector, Prof. Dr. Yücel Oğurlu, for visiting the exhibition to closely examine our students' work, engaging with them in a warm atmosphere, and posing for commemorative photos. The sincere rapport our Rector established with the students, the value he placed on their efforts, and his approach of encouraging academic productivity are deeply appreciated.
This wonderful gathering was more than just an exhibition visit; it was a meaningful reflection of the support shown for our students' creative work, a sense of belonging to the university, and the spirit of academic camaraderie.
We congratulate all the students involved as well as Asst. Prof. Dr. Ayşegül Ağan, and we remain committed to valuing the strong bond that architectural education fosters with the city, culture, and social memory.
